I have self-published my first book - BACK TO THE FUTURE OF MARKETING - offering my take on the future of PR and marketing. The book is trading on Amazon and if you'd like to know the reason why you should buy it and recommend it to others simply click on the link below and contribute to the cause. Even if PR or Marketing isn't your cup of tea, buying the book will make you feel good even before reading it.

This message is printed on bookmarks given to attendees during last night's Lynx Advertising Awards in Dubai as part of a sponsor's promotional campaign.
So, in other words, the advertising world is being encouraged to stop reading. Well, if they did, they'd start a trend that would eventually lead to them becoming redundant.
Clever marketing? Clearly not.

Selfie Killed The Photographer's Star
I bet that the almost legendary selfie taken by Bradley Cooper and coordinated by Ellen DeGeneres will lead the two hot stars to 'Litigation Road' considering recent reports questioning the copyright ownership of the pic.
But the biggest question one should actually pose is whether this selfie is capable of ending a profession which started back in 1826. For, Bradley's or Ellen's picture became instant hit with media the world over totally outshining any of the shots taken by the Holywood beat photographers or paparazzi.
The picture below depicts what is thought to be the world's first ever self portrait picture and while the subject and artist have for long departed together with the camera used to take this picture, their profession has managed to cling on despite the advent of digital cameras, smartphones and tablets.
Yet, Twitter may prove the deathknell of photography as we know it in the same way as the Internet will soon provide the fatal blow to print media. And that's not all. According to innovation editor Thomas Frey from the Futurist over 2 billion jobs will disappear by 2030. To know more about what the future holds for Marketing, PR and Retail professionals you may wish to take a look at my book BACK TO THE FUTURE OF MARKETING available on www.amazon.com Proceeds for each book sold till July 30th will go to a charity supported by The Dubai Bookmark Initiative.
